Elisa Jimenez in Dallas
David Ninh at Kera.org has posted a fabulous interview with Project Runway Season Four designer, Elisa Jimenez. He really captures her wonderful quirkiness. Here is my favorite quote:
How old are you?
I’m very proud to be 44. My mother told me that there are three things that make a woman look old – bitterness, regret and lack of use. And I’ve managed to avoid all of them.

Saturday With Tim Gunn
I timed a visit to my dad's home in South Florida to coincide with Tim's Kate Spade tour. Everything worked out beautifully. My friend Darlene and I met Tim for breakfast in the morning and later we went to the Kate Spade store in Boca Raton for the event. Tim graciously answered my questions about Project Runway, Lifetime, his new apartment, new book, fashion trends and much more. Thanks Tim!
LK: Tim, do you have a Facebook account?
TG: No.
LK: MySpace?
TG: No.
LK: Twitter?
TG: No.
LK: Okay, so any "Tim Gunn" page on any of these is a fansite.
TG: Well. it isn't me.
LK: Have you watched "The Fashion Show?"
TG: No, but only because I've been traveling and none of my hotels has had Bravo.
LK: Have you met Anderson Cooper?
TG: I did meet him at the Bailey House fundraiser. We have been trying to get together to have lunch but it hadn't happened yet...but I'm sure that it will....

Tim Gunn in Washington DC
Is there any doubt that Tim Gunn is the most influential man in American Fashion?
Tim and Leanne Marshall were in Washington DC today meeting with Rep. Lamar Smith and lobbying Congress about intellectual property rights for fashion designers. At least that's how I understand it. Click here to read about Tim's fashion advice for Washington staffers. Click here to read about a cute Tim Gunn sighting from a fellow blogger.
Project Runway Fans Rejoice!
The Fashion Show premieres on Bravo tomorrow night and it is great!
It's natural to make the comparisons but I'm not going to. I'll just say that if you love Project Runway, you'll love The Fashion Show.
The challenges are fun, the hosts and judges are appealing and the designers are very entertaining. (For me, Merlin is a real stand-out.)
Please join us at Blogging Bravo where we will be giving "The Fashion Show" our full attention!

A designer doesn't have to win Project Runway to become successful.
Being memorable, entertaining and likable on the show can bring many more opportunities. (I had to look up the correct spelling of likable - learned something new!)
We are looking forward to the new Laura Bennett show. It's bound to be good! Laura + Bravo + Rich Bye (producer) = Fabulous!
We also enjoyed Bravotv.com's "The Malan Show."
Another season three designer is shooting a pilot for TLC. Can you guess who? It's Kayne Gillaspie. Sounds like a lot of fun, Good luck Kayne.

Tim Gunn "Prom-phobic."
Photo: Prom Bombs
Having just returned from a trip to the "menswear" shop to have James fitted for a "classic black" tux for this weekend's prom, I was delighted to discover this gem in the mailbox:
In a recent survey conducted for the Savannah College of Art and Design's annual Scad Style report, Tim Gunn offers up this bit of prom fashion insight:
“I’m prom-phobic. In fact, I’ve had a profound aversion to proms for as long as I can remember. Some people believe that my phobia is discredited by the fact that I’ve never attended a prom. I don’t need to! And regarding my aversion, I won’t even get into the odd societal aspects of prommery. I’ll stick with the fashion aspects: most prom dresses aren’t even remotely “fashion.” Rather, they’re costumes. Care to debate it? Then ask yourself, “Where else can I wear this prom dress?” Furthermore, why do teenage girls dress to look twice their age? Finally, why do teen men choose to attend a prom wearing anything other than a classic black tuxedo? But a tux becomes a costume, too, when it’s worn with sneakers or flip-flops or it’s without a shirt. If I want to date a clown, I’ll go to the circus. So, my view on proms is the same today as it was a zillion years ago: I wouldn’t change a thing in my rewind. And if I sound like an old fuddy-duddy, I am. I guess I was born ‘old.’ “

Happy Birthday Jack Mackenroth
Hi BPR!
Blogger/Recapper David Dust here - reporting from New York City. I had the pleasure of attending Season Four designer Jack Mackenroth's 40th Birthday celebration over the weekend, and I have to say - it was a great night.
When I arrived, the birthday boy himself was outside the entrance to the Star Room - the club below the Hotel Chelsea - greeting his guests. Here we are outside the club before heading into the festivites...
Inside, the decor was sleek, the vodka was free, and the people were pretty. I got to meet gorgeous Season Four model Amanda Alter...
... and Season Four finalist Jillian Lewis, who was really warm and friendly.
Anywhoo, it was a really fun night honoring the sweetest guy in fashion - Jack Mackenroth. Happy Birthday, handsome!
Thank you David for the photos and report - and Happy Birthday to Jack.

Tim Gunn in Dallas
BPR Field Reporter Sparks sends us this field report from Dallas - thank you!
I attended Tim Gunn's opening of the new Kate Spade store at the Galleria in Dallas. Despite women exiting with their kids when one person sneezed, a large crowd was packed into the smallish store. Everyone enjoyed Tim's excellent niceness.
Here are some pictures from the fabulous event. With champagne and petit fours a lovely time was had by all.
