A Note From Althea Harper
Dear BPR,
I wanted to apologize for my behavior last night (well over a year ago but debuted last night.) I was acting like a "mean girl" and it was painful to watch. I am embarrassed because I always prided myself in being an upfront person and a kind person, however last night I was neither of the two. I was under slept and over tired, and unfortunately I let it get the best of me. Looking back, I was clearly not upset about Logan having a similar collar to mine (jeez...I really should have let it go...) I was just looking for something to vent about. It was an awkward situation to be in, around people you are competing against 24/7 and having no contact with those outside the show, and I think that led to things that were said that I normally wouldn't. Bottom line, I handled the situation very poorly and no excuses can change that.
I admire Logan so much for the way that he carried himself through out competition and I am so excited to see what he does in the future. Carol Hannah is very talented, and again someone who manages to escape the nastiness of the competition and stay sweet. I think of them both as great friends (CH is my roommate!) and I hope they still feel the same about me:)
Thanks for reading this!!

Althea Harper will be in Columbus Ohio to judge the "Highball Halloween" costume contest. Click here for more info and for a new interview with Althea. Thanks Cliff.
Check out this new interview with Nick Verreos. A highlight: Which designer from Season 6 would you want to design for you?
Logan. It’s funny that I had a hand in taking him out, yet I’d choose him. I see him and want to look like him ... OK, I know I can’t look like him, but I want the look of his skinny jeans and accessories.
Congratulations, Althea

BPR Love for Logan Neitzel
There are times when just appearing on Project Runway can be equated with winning. Malan Breton and Emmett McCarthy come to mind as having had career boosts for having appeared on the show. We get a chance to meet a designer and to see his/her point of view and to know that there is an audience for their fashion. In this case you demonstrated that your aesthetic is that of edgy street or rocker fashion. You found a collaborator in Epperson, your fellow contestant this season and together you showed a collection during Fashion Week for Spring 2010 after having met during Season 6. You didn't bring the drama (unless you count distracting Carol Hannah) and the models clearly liked you. Week after week you created fashion that stayed true to your style and to that of your future clients. Embrace this fast lane to success and we'll be following you all along the way, Logan!

Amanda's Take - Episode Ten
I love challenges like this where you get to see what the designers do with an amazing inspiration - a fabulous location! It's down to 7 designers and models.. it's starting to get really serious now and this is where is gets GOOD!
I thought the best model this week was Kalyn. Irina's Aspen look was incredible already and it just shined on Kalyn! She has the special quality of making an entrance you can't ignore. Whenever she is on screen my eyes go to her first. I love how the judging team was all together again. Thank goodness.. it feels right this way! Milla Jovovich was a very insightful judge and how sweet was she tearing up when Nicholas left?

Season Seven News
Unconfirmed sources suggest that the premiere date for season seven is January 14th.
Will we have another "anonymous" Fashion Week Show in February? Or something like eight decoy shows?
Tim Gunn told The Scarlett and I that "If Season Six is a ten, then Season Seven is a twenty-five!"
That's all I've got. Anyone else?

Episode 11 Speculation Poll
Chloe Dao Fashion Show Field Report
Houston-based Field Reporter John C joined Tina from Boston at Chloe Dao's fashion Show last week. Thank you both!
Hey BPR!
I was lucky enough to attend Chloe Dao's Fall 2009 fashion show this past week in Houston! Tina from Boston happened to be in Houston for the week, so we attended the show together! Tina and I met thanks to BPR at the PR finale this past February. Chloe certainly did Houston proud, and continued her quest to bring our city into the fashion world.
Chloe promised "Destruction, Death, and Rebirth" for her Fall 2009 fashion show, and she certainly delivered. Through the past 3 years of attending Chloe's show, I can proudly state that this is her finest collection to date. Her color palette ranged from black, grey, blue, burgundy, and a touch of metallic. She combined elements of her past designs (glamorous evening gowns, baby doll dresses) with exciting and fresh silhouettes and fabrics. She showed a talent for knitwear with a voluminous jacket and vest, and spiced up her evening wear with geometric patterns, one-shouldered tops, and necklines embellished with just the right amount of ruffles. The footwear included a few thigh-high boots, and the pumps were wrapped in fabric that tied the entire collection together.
Chloe's show exuded the darkness associated with destruction through her choice of colors and smoky makeup, but promised the joy of rebirth through her innovative patterns and silhouettes. Congratulations Chloe!

Next week's guest judge is Kerry Washington. Click here for the story from Entertainment Weekly. Here is a highlight: the designers will be “faced with their biggest competition yet, in a Project Runway first. Will they be able to top themselves and impress the judges?” In addition to Washington, “look for a Project Runway alum to appear.”
Heidi Klum is launching her own collection of fashion and footwear. The line will eventually include swimwear and maternity. Scheduled to launch in Fall 2010, the line is yet unnamed. Read more here in WWD.

BPR Love for Nicolas Putvinski
This week when you selected Greece, all I could think about was the myth about Icarus. He donned wings, not unlike the those you create for the Victoria Secret Angels with Izquierdo Studio. Like Icarus, you soared to heights in Episode 6 when you won the "Lights, Camera, Sew!" challenge. And last week you basked in the warm glow that is Bob Mackie which is probably like getting too close to the sun for a feather prince. But we know that you did not crash dramatically into the sea and drown; as Tim said, your look for this challenge was indeed beautifully executed - it was a matter of taste. You will continue to dress celebrity clients and collaborate with other acclaimed designers like Georgina Chapman and Keith Lissner because of the sophistication and impeccable detailing of the looks you create. But now you will have more opportunities to display your talent and we will be watching and cheering you on.
This post is only for positive words for Nicolas Putvinski. If you have negative commentary or something to say about another designer, you may do so in our Reactions post here.

Episode 10 Party!
Yes, this is what the typical BPR party room looks like on a Thursday evening. Trade those sketch pads in for laptops and you have fashionable hipsters all poring over their keyboards busily typing in their next quip.
Welcome all to the BPR party lounge! Come on in and watch Episode 10 with us as we chortle our way to another designer elimination. The only thing more fun than a new episode of Runway is a new episode party!
BPR Interview with Shirin Askari
Shirin was completely charming as we talked about her experience on the show. A highlight: Shirin will be showing her newest collection in Dallas in February.

Tonight On BPR
It's a little bit old school tonight as Nina Garcia and Michael Kors will share judging duties on Project Runway for the first time since the Season 6 premiere. The focus will be primarily on MK though in Episode 10 "Around The World In Two Days". Why no Nina love, Lifetime?
Anyways, here's the plan:
- The BPR party room opens at 9:30 p.m. Join Runway fans from far and wide as we watch the new episode together. Snark and a pinch of sass most welcome.
- Tbone will have live play-by-play coverage of Episode 10 beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET. We'll bring you all the ins and aufs as the show airs live.
- After the show is over make sure to visit our weekly reactions thread to give us your take on all the drama and design.

Amanda Fields Update
Hello, BPR land!
I have been busy but I didn't forget about you! As a matter of fact, I had the busiest 10 days of my life, and loved every second of it. If you are a Central Florida resident, you have seen the commercials on tv, heard the ads on the radio, and now have seen me on local tv and heard me on local radio in Orlando and Tampa!
What am I referring to? The House of Vayne at Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream 2009 event! The designer is Ms. Vayne and she has three runway models, me with another girl and guy. What you discover is that we are all vampires and coming to see her collection is quite a draining experience... (cue evil laughter.)
My vampire name is Elsa and I LOVED being her. I was a little sad to leave the fangs behind to come back to Hollywood! Here are a few photos and video clips from my vampire press tour! I can't believe I finally have my very own billboard! It was the coolest experience to see that.. something I have dreamed of and worked towards for a very long time!!

AdDRESS Your Heart for a Chance to Meet Tim Gunn
In its continuing commitment to the fight against heart disease among women, Campbell is sponsoring the "AdDress Your Heart" design and essay contest. The winner will have the opportunity to walk the red carpet with Tim Gunn at the "Woman's Day Red Dress Awards" show.
Starting today through November 6, 2009, people can visit CampbellsAdDressYourHeart.com to enter the “AdDress Your Heart” Design Contest by sharing their personal story and original Campbell red dress design. The contest invites entrants to design a red dress and describe (in 250 words or less) why heart disease is a cause that is important to them, share an inspiring story about their female“heart-health hero,” and explain how they and/or their hero take steps to live a heart-healthy lifestyle.
The top three submissions will be selected with the help of Project Runway mentor, Tim Gunn who will advise Campbell on the best designs and styles. The finalists’ red dress design sketches and inspirational stories will be posted online for America to vote on their favorite during the month of January.
The vote will decide which finalist will join the ranks of previous Campbell red dress designers, including Nicole Miller and Michael Vollbracht for Bill Blass, who have contributed to the collection of Campbell dresses that are synonymous with heart health. Additionally, the winner and his/her heart-health hero will have the opportunity to celebrate American Heart Month (February) with Gunn on the red carpet of the Woman’s Day Red Dress Awards. With each vote online, Campbell will make a $1 donation to the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement (up to $625,000.)

EW: Are you going to tell me which ones?
NG: [Laughs] No.
EW: What about Epperson? Another controversial elimination!
NG: Oh…I do agree with the decision to eliminate him.
Congratulations Carol Hannah

BPR Love for Shirin Askari
Throughout the season you never played it safe and frequently it paid off landing you a spot near the top and a well-deserved win in the maternity challenge.
Your element is meticulous sophistication, much like Season 4 finalist Jillian Lewis. This week you were challenged to marry those two attributes with over-the-top, a place you had appropriately avoided going in previous episodes. One can only guess that you were less familiar with Bob Mackie and perhaps were not a big fan of Xtina.
In spite of your struggles Nina Garcia liked the top half of your gown and said that it had promise and she stated that you have talent. As a young designer with a long career ahead it is clear that you show promise much like other young designers before you like Daniel Vosovic and Christian Siriano and so we look forward to what is yet to come from you, Shirin.
This post is only for positive words for Shirin Askari. If you have negative commentary or something to say about another designer, you may do so in our Reactions post here.
