Project Runway Season 9 Finale Collections

Nine Project Runway Season 9 designers showed at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on September 9, 2011. Below you will see images of the designers in the order that their ten-piece Spring 2012 collections were shown in the new Lincoln Center venue. In an effort to remain spoiler-free, you will not see images of the designs on the main page of BPR. Spoiler alert - if you click on the image of each designer you will be redirected to images of the 10 fashions in the order that they were presented. Purists, beware that you will see the garments before they appear on the show and that the comments will contain discussions about the looks.

Gretchen Jones S/S 2012

Gretchen Jones debuted her Spring/Summer 2012 collection earlier today to an enthusiastic crowd in Chelsea. Seen here with Season 8 alum Kristin Haskins Simms, Gretchen featured very wearable separates and summer dresses with an urban cowgirl feel. The models were displayed in a straight police lineup, allowing for ample focus on her self-designed jewelry. Click here for a photo slideshow from WWD.

Congratulations Gretchen!

We are down to single digits on Season 9 as another designer bites the dust. Tempers flared and tears were shed tonight. What did you think of the challenge, the drama and the elimination? Post your reactions to Episode 7 here.

BPR Live Play By Play/Party: Episode 7

Team BPR in NYC

Team BPR has arrived in NYC for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and we have a weekend filled with Project Runway coverage for you. The main event of course is tomorrow's Season 9 finale, where we expect to see 9 designers show after tonight's elimination. We will be live blogging from inside the tent and attempt to run a live chat room as well.

Earlier this afternoon, I ran into Gretchen Jones and her S8 friend Kristin Haskins Simms at Gretchen's S/S 2012 presentation. More from that show coming up later.

It's an exciting time for Project Runway fans and there is tremendous buzz in the air - stay tuned!

Tonight On BPR

Happy Thursday Project Runway fans! We have one simple question for you today: "Can't We All Just Get Along?" The producers must have decided that Season 9 was running a bit stale and decided to dial up yet another team challenge. This ought to fix everything.

They have apparently run out of original ideas as well as they recycle the HP create your own fabric challenge for the third straight season. We are still searching for "ESOSA" from Season 7!

Well, the producers may be phoning this season in, but Team BPR is still on hand for your Thursday night fun. Here's the plan:
  • Team BPR will be all together watching Episode 7 together in NYC. Suzq will be running the party room and hopefully Tbone will join in for the play by play. All are welcome, come join the fun!
  • After the show, share your thoughts on the new episode in our weekly reactions thread.
See you tonight on BPR!

BPR Interview with Andrae Gonzalo

Project Runway Season 2 designer, Andrae Gonzalo is living in New York and working for designer Mikael Aghal.

Andrae has designed this bag (which contains a solar cell and will charge your devices!) for a charity auction. Other Project Runway alums (Kit Pistol, Mila Hermanovski) have also designed bags for this cause. Check out all of the bags tomorrow night at New York Moves Magazine during Fashion's Night Out.

Bags will be auctioned on eBay and proceeds will benefit Keep a Child Alive.

Andrae graciously agreed to talk to us about the design, living in New York and being a Project Runway "survivor."

Thank you Andrae!

Celebrate "Fashion's Night Out" Thursday at EMc2

Project Runway season 2 designer, Emmett McCarthy is hosting a "Fashion's Night Out" party on Sept. 8th.

Episode 7 Guest Judges: Rose Byrne and Rachel Roy

Actress Rose Byrne and designer Rachel Roy are guest judges this week for the HP "Create Your own Fabric" challenge.

Trivia: Rachel Roy judged which previous season and challenge?

The producers must really like Judge Roy - she may also be featured in Project Accessory.

Who Will Be Eliminated This Week?

The designers who survive episode 7 will presumably be showing collections at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on Friday. So, this challenge has particular significance. Furthermore, it is a team challenge, so a weaker designer may survive because of stronger teammates.

Nick Verreos is hosting a "Which designer should be eliminated this week?" poll on his blog. Can you guess which designer is "winning?"

Reactions To Episode 6

Project Runway let the designers show their creativity in tonight's episode with an avant-garde challenge. Some were perhaps a bit too creative for the judge's taste. What did you think? Post your reactions to Episode 6 here.

BPR Live Play By Play/Party: Episode 6

Tonight On BPR

Photo: Barbara Nitke/Lifetime Entertainment Services

It's a mere week before filming the Season 9 finale and we still have 11 designers left! What they don't know at this point is that they are all fighting for a chance to present at least a decoy collection at New York Fashion Week. Just two more eliminations remain before the show at Lincoln Center next week.

It's an avant-garde challenge this week, who will shine and who "will crash and burn"? Here's the plan tonight:
  • Tbone and suzq will host our fun and fab live play by play and party room beginning at 8:30 p.m. If you are without Lifetime, we'll tell you all the ins and aufs. If you do have Lifetime, the show is more fun with our snark!
  • After the episode airs, tell us your thoughts in our weekly reactions thread. Sound off on the challenges, designers and judging decisions in our always lively forum.
It's another Thursday Project Runway night - see you here on BPR!
