Thanks Jamie for the link - please continue to send us your model spottings.
Speaking of models... Guess who is going to host the Canadian version of Project Runway?
Iman!

Planning a shopping trip to NYC this summer?

Dear Season Four Designers,
You must be very excited and quite busy making last-minute preparations for your trip to New York. How long will you be staying? Hopefully for several weeks, or even a month, so pack plenty of clothes.
Have you explained to you boss where you are going? What you are doing? Did you have to tell a little story or could you tell the truth? Who else knows the truth? Your spouse? Sweetheart? Best friend?
Are you on a diet? Working out? Got a fresh haircut?
Wow, so much to think about!
We have all sorts of Heidi Klum sightings in NYC - West Village mostly - so she is ready to begin. You must be very excited about meeting her... And Tim Gunn! And the other designers!
Have you been imagining what the challenges might be? Devising strategies? Practicing your confessionals?
If this is your last time to check in to BPR before you head to New York we want to wish you the very best. Whether you are the first designer "auf" or the eventual winner, BPR will be here to cover your career. We already consider you a friend.
We can't wait to meet you!
Sincerely,
Team BPR and All of the BPRs

The House and Garden website now has a slideshow of the images of Tim Gunn's apartment. We had some questions about whether this was his "old" apartment or his new one. This is the old one - perhaps we'll get to see the new one someday as well.

If you have had trouble with the e-mail address for the casting dept. at Tim Gunn's new show, try this: guidetostyle@hotmail.com
I'm not making it into a link because that could have been the problem. Just copy and paste it into your e-mail address bar and it should work. Good luck everyone!
Meanwhile, the studio location for the show has apparently been determined. Any BPRs in Chelsea?
Here is some news about Mychael Knight. Among other things, he is introducing a jewelry line. Thanks Pam!
This article about GenArt includes a little news about Jay McCarroll.
Also, if anyone caught Jay McCarroll at Therapy on Monday night, please send a field report. I'm not sure even what Therapy is (a club?) but I'm pretty sure there was a fashion design competition involved. I hear that garbage bags and feather boas were part of the fun.... Is this just a rumor?

Season Four
We are getting a lot of e-mails concerning season four.
Mostly you are asking:
1) Have the designers been chosen?
2) When will they begin filming?
3) When is the season four premiere?
Remember we are not Bravo and we don't have any insider information. We read the news and the message boards just like you do.
Here is our best information:
1) Yes the designers have been chosen. Good luck to all of you - we can't wait to meet you!
2) Filming likely takes place in June. This means the designers are probably frantically preparing right now - taking leaves from their jobs and practicing their techniques.... Also deciding what to wear!
3) As far as we know the show won't debut until October. I am completely upset about having to wait so long between seasons. I plan to defect to another network on Wednesday nights in protest. I can't explain why they have to wait so long, but the last information that we had was a press release stating that it would premiere in the fourth quarter of 2007. So October is our most optimistic guess.
4) It looks like the finale will take place at the February 2008 Fashion Week.
So thank you for all or your inquiries. This is only our best information. Remember, we are fans just like you!

Field Report From Indianapolis
Angela was so incredibly friendly and gracious, and was very accommodating in helping us promote the event with the media. She said she was having a terrific weekend, which of course meant that she was selling lots of her work! She said that she truly appreciated everyone who came out to see her, and that several people had mentioned that they attended the event just to meet her.
Selling your art from a tent in a parking lot is hard work and is a long way from the glamour of New York and a major television show, but Angela was obviously having a great time.
We want to say thanks to all the BPR fans who came to the Art Fair to meet Angela. The Broad Ripple Art Fair is our biggest fundraising event of the year, and all the money raised from tickets goes to support our programs, which include free art classes for children in inner city housing, domestic violence shelters and urban parks and mentoring programs for aspiring young artists, plus free admission to our galleries and outdoor sculpture garden year-round. The Art Fair is attended by around 26,000 and shows the work of 225 artists. It also features four stages of entertainment, a food court, and kids’ art activities.
Our website is www.indplsartcenter.org
Thanks to BPR for the chance to promote the Art Fair and the Indianapolis Art Center! We hope to let everyone know if Angela joins us again next year.
Sincerely,
Pam R

Nancy T Reports from the Wish-Bone Fashion Show
On May 17, Grand Central’s Vanderbilt Hall was standing room only, as Tim Gunn hosted a fashion show for Wish-bone Salad Spritzers Dressing. Chris March and Heatherette designed fashions out of real fruits and vegetables to showcase new salad dressings and to benefit America’s Second Harvest, a charitable hunger relief organization. The outfits were prepped in a refrigerated truck for maximum freshness and appeal. If only Austin Scarlett had had the refrigerator and the big budget during Project Runway’s first challenge!

Hi all.
Long time fan of BPR, since Season 1. Received my Simply Chloe Dao QVC order last night for the purple and black silk dress and am wearing it now in the office. Lots of compliments. It's cute, cute, and did I say cute! Well made. I LOVE the pockets. Ordered online last Thursday. QVC doesn't yet have images up of all the items, so I chanced it with the dress having already seen the pictures posted on BPR. I'm typically a Size 12 dress, so ordered the M and it fits perfectly! Fun, fun print and made of good silk.
Just thought you all might be curious to know. I'm kinda shy in posting pictures but trust that the dress looks exactly the image posted....

Leah C Reports from Seattle
Hi there --
Tonight was Tim's event -- and what an event it was!
I went with my good friend Cynthia. We arrived just after 6 (the event was to start at 7.) I immediately went and bought my book -- there was already a huge crowd, and I was afraid they were going to sell out. With the purchase of my book came a signing ticket. There was a huge letter "A" on the side of it (A is for A-line.) We later learned that the signing was being done in groups, alphabetical order, A-D. Lucky us!
There is a Y-type staircase at the end of the book store, with the two top ends going to the second story, joining in the middle then coming further down. They had built up a runway at the end of the staircase on the first floor.
Eight contestants [Ed. note: For the "Most Stylish Man in Seattle"] were interviewed by the people running the contest, but only three made it to the final (which meant only three got to meet and be questioned by Tim.) They came down the stairs and strutted their stuff on the runway. Then the three finalists were announced, and Tim asked them questions, basically, what were they trying to say with their personal style, as well as how sincere they were -- was what they were wearing a costume, or was it their everyday wear?

A Note From Emmett McCarthy
Dear Laura:
On Monday night April 30, 2007 Leo Preziosi founder of Live Out Loud hosted a Gala at The Chelsea Art Museum.
LIVE OUT LOUD's mission is to empower, energize and enable Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Youth to live the life of their dreams through the celebration of the richness and diversity of our shared experience, the visibility of role models and the dissemination of information.
I have known Leo Preziosi since design school and have watched him build this wonderful organization.
There were several hundred people in attendance for the Gala.
LIVE OUT LOUD held a silent auction to raise funds for their scholarships. Many generous supporters contributed including Project Runway Alumnus, Malan Breton. I donated the "Laura K" printed coat shown here at auction.

Laura L reports from Washington DC - Thanks for the fabulous story and photos!
Michael Kors accepted Marymount University's Designer of the Year Award on April 27th at the University’s annual juried student fashion show – Portfolio in Motion. This award is presented each year to an outstanding designer whose work reflects the highest fashion standards. And, as if having Michael Kors in the audience to watch your designs walk down the runway is not enough, Mr. Kors formally critiqued each senior fashion design student’s portfolio… a la Project Runway!

John P Interviews Daniel Vosovic in San Francisco - Part Two
Team BPR thanks John P for this fabulous interview. Thanks also to Daniel Vosovic for the time that he set aside for us on such a busy day. You guys are great...
JP: Time is definitely on your side. Don’t rush.
DV: That’s the thing. I catch myself saying “why aren’t you trying to do this thing?” I am my own worst critic. I feel that like no matter what anyone says about my stuff or my career or anything, if I’m not happy then it doesn’t matter. If I’m not happy with where I’m at, then I’m the one who can to choose to make a move back, forward, small, big. That’s where I feel right now that’s where I want to be. That’s best for my career. And that’s what I’m doing.
JP: Would one of those offers by any chance be with Michael Kors?
DV: No it is not.
JP: The reason I ask is because of the offer that was made to you at the end of Season 2, and if I remember correctly, you actually followed up with him on that.
DV: Yeah, just to reiterate, I went in for the interview, had a really great conversation, designer to designer. Keep in mind that this was the first time I had to talk with Michael outside of the cameras, outside of the show, and so at that point, it was such an honor to sit and just talk design for an hour. That was at the end of the week, he let the weekend go by and he called Monday or Tuesday and said “I don’t have a place in my company for you.” So I don’t even know what to say to that. It is what it is. Michael Kors isn’t the “end all, be all” of my career. I wish he hadn’t done that on national television because now everyone says, “Aren’t you working for Michael Kors?”
JP: Well, to touch on what you said earlier, I think you have to take your time and find the right fit for you.
DV: Totally, exactly!
JP: And not to cave in just because this person’s already established because then you won’t get to establish your own clear vision of what you want your clothes to be.
DV: I totally agree.
JP: So you’re doing the right thing. Take your time….
DV: What’s funny is, Kieran knows (I love him) how much heartache I go through mentally. Every day is a battle with “am I doing the right thing? Yes I am, no I’m not…” and right now I have such clarity in my life as far as my career because I’m the one who is making the decisions as to what I need to do and the product I am putting out there. Like I said, I just turned 26, and I need to step back once in a while and say “you’re doing a great job. You’re really doing a good job, Daniel” because people want “fast fashion, now, now, now, now, now.” It eats away at your brain and I don’t want to ever cater solely to that. Having a demand is good, but if I solely catered to just putting something out there or being part of something “just because”, it’s going to be the end. I want to have a career that I can be proud of thirty years from now.
JP: No compromises.
DV: No compromises…for anyone.
JP: So how were auditions for Season 4?
