Tim Gunn News and More

hollyWoody asks Tim Gunn 5 questions and the answers are pure Tim at his most fab.

Tim is certainly being called into service for charity events these days! Tim will participate in the 2007 Capital Catwalk on June 23rd in his hometown of Washington, D.C. This event benefits The High Tea Society, a
non-profit program that seeks to offer economic mobility to inner-city girls.

Tim will join the salute to Nathan Lane on June 25th at the Hudson Theatre in New York. Lane will receive The Trevor Hero Award and Bravo will receive The Trevor Commitment Award. The Trevor Project is a non-profit, suicide prevention organization. Tickets are available for this event that is sure to attract a red carpet crowd.

According to this press release, Tim Gunn is set to emcee VH1's Save the Music Foundation event that will honor former President Bill Clinton and presidential hopeful wife Hilary.

Heidi Klum tells iVillage how she shed those baby pounds (just as you thought you were going to do without your daily dose of Heidi.) By the way, Daily Blabber wants you to think up a caption for the picture at the right.

Finally, Chloe Dao participated in a design contest this week and it seems she is looking to open a second Lot 8 boutique in Houston.

From The Mailbox

I should have titled this post 'Heidi Galore' because of all the news/sitings of Heidi Klum in NYC.

A Socialite's Life has Heidi dining, shopping and tooling around town with her BFF's. Hello Magazine has Heidi with son Henry trying a (parked) motorcycle on for size. The Daily News tells us that a reversal of fortune means you can't call Heidi the Baroness von Klum. And Celebrity Baby Scoop shows us the picture at the left of Heidi and Seal having some quality time with Leni.

And for non-Heidi related news, Canadian designer Brian Bailey will be the mentor for Project Runway Canada. Click here for the details about who will also join Iman on this highly anticipated show that will debut for our northern neighbors in October.

Updates - Heidi, Jay and Alison

Heidi Klum is featured in this New Zealand interview that talks about her work as a curvy model and some special German nicknames. Celebrity Baby Blog brings us the photo (by Steve Connolly for Startrak) of Heidi and baby Henry that you see at the right as well as a photo of big sister Leni. And for more pictures of Heidi out with two of the kids, click here.

Our readers robin and neptunerh told us about the Jay McCarroll documentary, Eleven Minutes. Laura K. remembered the crew filming him at Fashion Week last September. We don't have an air date - yet - but we'll keep you updated. Tom and Lorenzo, among others, can't wait to see this next installment in the Jay saga.

Finally, Alison Kelly is selling clothing on her MySpace. They are interesting dresses that her fans should appreciate.

Our friends at Blogging Top Chef will be hosting a live chat during the show. Also, our friends at Top Chef 2 have links to a couple of previews and will continue their excellent coverage as well.

While you're waiting for the show to begin be sure to check out Trish's Field Report from a Cook-off event between Sam Talbot and Ilan Hall. Hi Trish!

Does anybody know if Andy Cohen's "Watch What Happens" show will return? I don't find any mention of it anywhere... perhaps I'll just check in the with the team at BAC.

This is actress Alicia Minshew who plays Kendall on All My Children. She is wearing a Malan Breton design and I think she looks adorable!

Malan will also be at "Broadway Bares" on June 17th. No he won't be naked and believe me, I asked. It's a charity event to support Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Malan will be participating as part of a VIP backstage package.

Fashion Indie blogger Daniel Saynt suggests that Alison Kelly might be part of the cure for GAP. Just in case you missed it, here again is the Brass Magazine article about Alison. Thanks Colleen.

Here is something fun. Teamsugar asks which designer will stand the test of time - Chloe or Jeffrey? What about Jay? Maybe Jay will be in the poll next week...

Introducing: The Glam Squad!

Click here to visit the "MSN Style Studio" website.

Fourth Quarter of 2007

Every day we receive e-mails from fans asking "When will Season Four Begin?" As far as we know, the show returns during the "Fourth quarter of 2007." We don't know which month, which week or which day.

We know for certain that they are filming season four right now and we have had several spottings of the designers.

We also receive daily e-mails about the release date of the season three DVD. We don't know when it will be available and when I asked Andy Cohen and he said he "Had no idea." Of course, you can download every episode from iTunes. ALSO - there is a season three MARATHON today, so you could set the recorder. The DVD will hopefully have some extra bonus features and really, that's what we are interested in, right? The stuff we haven't seen before. Also, the "Wear are they now?" feature. I hope they do a story about Emmett. It's overdue.

In the meantime, dear BPRs if you hear anything about the release date of the DVD, please let us know.

I'll be back with the news a little later.

BPR at "Reality Check"

Los Angeles-based field reporter Jonathan Trimm attended the "Reality Check" event and sends us this great story. Thanks again, Jonathan.

On Friday night, reality stars gathered together at MJ's Nightclub in Silverlake California, to help raise funds for the Trevor Project, and to kick off Pride Week.

Two of our favorite PR contestants, and one very memorable model were on hand to support this event and the amazing organization. Nick Verreos was on hand greeting the crowd and talking to other reality stars and fans alike. He was there with David Paul, and excited about the new things happening in his life. With his GenArts work, he has travelled all over the US, including: Chicago, Phoenix, and many other cities.

Andrae Gonzalo was also on hand and extremely excited to support the event and the work it is doing to help the homosexual community and especially the youth. Andrae is still teaching at FIDM, and designing for private clients. When asked about the possibility of working with Jamie Benson again on another dance event, he said it was an amazing experience that he would not rule-out, but there is nothing in the works right now.

The lovely Amanda Fields was also at the event. Currently she is attending acting classes at the Beverly Hills Playhouse, and wanting to move into acting while still carrying on her modeling career. She also gave a heads up to the fact that some
of Uli Herzner's designs are in the window of a store called Horn on Robertson Blvd. She is also still doing runway modeling.

The Trevor Project is an amazing organization that was created to help people through tough situations. Based off a short film call "Trevor," which focused on a 13 year-old who tried to take his life after being shunned at school because of his homosexuality, the Trevor Project created in 1998, is a suicide and crisis help-line for gay youth and adults. It is a 24 hours/ 7 days a week line. Via the organization's website, the Trevor Helpline has taken over 96,000 phone calls since its beginning. In 2004, the group extended its support to other methods, including teaching guides, etc. It was a great event and supported an even better organization.

Scarlett Wearing Emmett McCarthy

Emmett McCarthy's fashions are perfect for any occasion. Today was my daughter's graduation and I just had to wear my Scarlett dress.

Note to Emmett: I felt like a princess in my dress but I was so caught up taking pictures of the graduate that not a single photo of myself was taken at the event. I used up all of the batteries in my camera so this was snapped with a camera phone.

Model Sighting!

Look for a season three favorite here. Did you see her? How about here? Thanks Sammi!

Most of the news this morning is about last night's
CFDA Awards. These are the "Oscars of the Fashion Industry." Debra Messing and Heidi Klum were there with Michael Kors. Here they pose with Liya Kebede as Charlie's Angels. Cute! Thanks Ted.

There is more coverage here, here, here, and here.

Hey CFDA - how about considering one of the Project Runway designers for the "Emerging" category in 2008?

Meanwhile, faithful BPRs are aware that season four is filming right now in NYC. Fashionista.com reports a sighting. Mild possible spoiler alert. If you don't want to know - don't click on it.

Everyone loves Project Runway - the writers from the show "Heroes" (which I love) as well as this writer from "Grey's Anatomy."

Let's call it the "Project Runway Effect." More shows and films about fashion are in the hopper. Click here for info. Who is your pick to play Vivienne Westwood?

And now for something completely different... BPR's own field reporter Roz, mentioned us in her profile in "Pensions and Investments." Thanks for the shout-out, Roz. BPRs are everwhere!

Runway Reject

So many stories from the audition line, here's yet another:

"I want to change the world! I'm a socially conscious, environmental and feminist designer that wants to revolutionize fashion! I'm opposed to the mass production, mass consumption, wasteful, sweatshop labor-filled industry but making clothes is my passion! I have the talent and motivation to make it in the industry and make a difference! And I need Project Runway for the exposure."
Designer Kate Goldwater writes an open letter to Project Runway...
