Michael Knight at C.A.N. Fundraiser

My mother and I attended the Michael Knight event in Atlanta (actually Norcross) GA last night. The event, which was a fundraiser for Cure Autism Now (C.A.N.) featured two other designers (unfortunately I don’t have details about them), with Michael showing his collection last.

He showed men’s and women’s clothing, new items and also some of the collection that appears on his website (clothing and swimsuits). The event was held at The Grape, a wine bar located in The Forum shops. Michael wore an appropriately grape-colored sweater (cute!!) with a hot-pink tie, jeans and a pink and purple belt. After the show, Michael auctioned off an original gown (also purple!), which he crafted for his PR Season 2 audition. The dress sold for $500. Michael was just as sweet and friendly in person as he seemed on the show, and even cuter in person!

"Tenacious D" Features Cosa Nostra Designs

Alert BPR reader Eric N spotted this photo from the movie Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny. He saw the Cosa Nostra patch and wondered if this was designed by Jeffrey Sebelia.

Before we posted we confirmed with Jeffrey and here is his response: Yes. I did this last year and the movie finally came out.

Congratulations Jeffrey.

Malan Dresses Jody Watley

Malan Breton is busy! In addition to having shown his Spring Collection at StyleLounge on September 11th and having opened his atelier in NYC, Malan is speaking at Princeton(!) on December 7th; he will be talking about the art of style and the fashion industry. He also found the time to dress the glamourous Jody Watley for her appearance this morning on New York's WB morning show. Click here for a video of her appearance wearing a dress by Malan. And click here for a larger view of the dress.

Here's what he writes:

I had contacted Miss Watley directly and to my surprise she responded so promptly and knew about Runway. We chatted back and forth and then, I told her I would love to one day dress her. She responded back and asked if I could make something for her for an appearance. I was so honoured, all those years I would put her music on and sketch my fashion ideas out, and now the woman who served as great inspiration to me was going to be wearing one of my designs. I custom made it for her in two days, hand sewing everything myself, I did not want anyone else to touch this garment as it meant so much to me. I left the TV studio today in tears, one of my greatest dreams had come true. Miss Watley is the kindest most lovely woman and she loves so much what she does, I wish her so much luck with her new cd and look forward to dressing her again.

We hear that so much more is on the horizon for Malan and we can't wait to share all of the details with you! Yes, Malan has been busy but it all centers around the universe of beauty.

Thanks Deb S.

BPR Loves Andrae

Back during the mad rush of the Season 3 finale, we mentioned the BeverlyHillsPeople.com video featuring Andrae. Some of you were unable to watch the video in that format and so we're happy to report that it is available on YouTube. Click on the arrow below to see our unshorn Andrae's view on Season 3 (trousers!), profiling Santino ("Step aside") and a certain blogspot with "anything you could possibly know about Project Runway."

BPR loves BeverlyHillsPeople.com for the shoutout. But most of all, BPR loves Andrae. It can't be said enough; he isn't just our little lamb - he's everyone's little lamb.

The Tim Gunn Show?

Judging from your comments it is hard to imagine Project Runway without Tim Gunn. But perhaps it would be fun to try to imagine a NEW show for Tim! What network would it be on? What regular features would be included? What guests would Tim interview? Where would he go? What would he do? The BPR Team has all sorts of ideas - but we'll let you go first!
