Top 5 Looks: 2nd Place

The long days and short nights that the Project Runway designers face during filming are meant to exert the maximun amount of stress. Often times we see designers napping on the couch, catching a few winks in the workroom, or blowing up at someone out of sheer exhaustion. So in the rare instance that a designer has immunity, it's hard to fault them for not putting forth their best effort.

Leanne Marshall entered "Double O Fashion" fresh off of her first win and carrying immunity. The seven remaining designers were given the challenge of designing a look for Diane von Furstenberg's line that was based on the classic film A Foreign Affair. DVF gave Leanne a big incentive not to slack off when she said that the winning design would be put into production and sold on her website.

Leanne used a cobalt silk jersey from DVF's own sample room to create a stunning gown with a low cowl, fitted waistband and ruffled train. Photos do not do it justice. Over this she placed a cropped trench to give it that special spy kick. But it was the gown that made our jaws drop and for a mere $650, you can own one yourself.

Leanne became the first two time winner of Season 5 with this design and established herself as the one to beat. But there were even better things to come her way...

Congratulations, Leanne

This was simply a cohesive collection. You managed to show us in ten pieces a range of garments that ran from dresses to shorts to trousers to gowns that were architecturally complex. They moved beautifully down the runway and your wave inspiration was clearly referenced while your restrained palette emphasized the silhouettes and impeccable execution. And you showed the ability to self-edit removing the two looks that didn't tell your story or show your versatility with separates. Bravo, Leanne.

This post is only for positive words for Leanne Marshall or her collection. If you have anything to say about another designer, please click here for our Reactions post.

BPR Love to Korto and Kenley

Korto Momolu and Kenley Collins should both be very proud of their showing at Bryant Park and throughout Season Five of Project Runway. Their respective finale collections showed their distinct points of view and an argument could be made for either to have walked away with the prize. "Chacun a son gout", as Tim has stated throughout the 'Five Seasons of Fabulous.'

Send your love to Korto and Kenley here. Please, only positive comments under this thread. If you have anything negative to say about any designer or their garments, please click here for our Reactions post.
