Reality Worlds Collide

Tonight at 10 pm Eastern 'Flipping Out' Season Two premieres and in the first episode we meet 'New Chris.'

Who is New Chris and how is he related to Project Runway? New Chris is actually Chris Keslar, friend of BPR and brother to none other than Season Three designer Angela Keslar.

Chris had served as a 'field reporter' for us when Angela was at Macy's (click here). And he also joined Laura K. with Heather Ashton and Andrea Keller from Top Design (more colliding!) at a lunch at The Standard Hotel during casting of Season 4 of Project Runway (click here).

Just wanted to give Chris a shout-out on BPR and say that we can't wait to 'watch what happens' on the new season!

Whoopi in Christian Siriano - Fug or Fab?

By the time I realized that I should post a poll about Whoopi Goldberg's Christian Siriano dress worn last night at the Tony Awards, I figured that I should check out The Fug Girls to see if the frock merited a mention. Yes, the gown was not only discussed but they also posted a far more clever poll than the one I had considered. So go vote over there - but, since they don't allow comments, tell us why you voted the way you did.

Go Metro with Andrae Gonzalo

Los Angeles-based Field Reporter Christine Haynes covered the "Go Metro" dance performance for BPR. Thanks Christine!

Last Saturday I went to see Project Runway Season 2's Andrae Gonzalo perform Go Metro . . . at the Highways Performance Space in Santa Monica. The timing couldn't have been better, as my mom was in town for the long weekend, and she is a super Project Runway fan, so she was really excited to meet Andrae.

So off we went, and it was so great! Andrae, and a cast of about 6 others performed a series of really funny dance/performances all about the joys and pains of taking public transportation in LA. Afterwards, we went to meet Andrae, and he graciously posed for a photo with us. He was extremely genuine and sweet. And we met his mom, who we ended up sitting next to during the performance. She was lovely as well.

Heidi Wears Rami Kashou in Forbes

Who do you call when you want a dress fashioned out of money? If you're Heidi Klum, posing for the June 30 Forbes Magazine (on the newstands today), you don't hesitate to think of Project Runway Season 4 Finalist Rami Kashou. Rami tells us that he created the dress in two days and was on the set prepping the entire day of the shoot. You can also see Rami and the leggy supermodel in the table of contents.

UPDATE: The money was fake and purchased at Toys R Us! Fantastic!

Introducing: Blogging Shear Genius!

Shear Genius? No you didn't.
We've been hearing the clamor from many of you to cover this show, and we finally decided to jump in. Loyal readers well recall how we went down this path before, poured everything we had into Top Design and ended up sorely disappointed. Well, Shear Genius is a bit different.
We really loved Season 1 of this show - it's fun and creative with a cast of stylists well versed in salon drama, wielding weapons of the trade. And who doesn't love themselves a little Kelly Garrett?
And we will not be going at this venture alone. Project Runway recapper and Photoshop genius The Minx will be quarterbacking the site for us, keeping up with the latest as we prepare for Season 5 of Project Runway.
Many of the features you love on BPR will be a part of BSG, including live episode viewing parties! Tbone will be hosting the first one for the premiere on Wednesday, June 25 at 10:00 p.m. So come on over to BSG and see what all the fuss is about. It's going to be fun!

The A-List Awards

We headed out to the Hammerstein Ballroom for the A-List Awards, picked up our tickets in the lobby (thanks Andy!) and headed for the party. The first "Bravo-lebrity" I saw was Oscar from "Step it up and Dance." Next I met Peter Shelton and realized that I should maybe get my camera out.

Kara Janx is lovely and we admired photos of Baby Dylan.

Kit Pistol and Kevin Christiana were adorable.

Here are three more of our Season Two Favorites - Diana Eng, Chloe Dao and Emmett McCarthy.

Project Runway at the A-List Awards

Project Runway designers joined Tim Gunn and other television and fashion personalities at the Hammerstein Ballroom for The A-List Awards presented by Bravo. Above, Season Four winner Christian Siriano looks adorable with his dashing mentor.

An irresistible trio of Jack Mackenroth, Kit Pistol and Kevin Christiana from Season 4 enjoyed being reunited. Alison Kelly and Laura Bennett (mild-mannered Supermom) of Season 3 greet Sweet P from Season 4 to form a graceful threesome.

Season 1 winner Jay McCarroll looks incredibly svelte and debonair. A troika of glamour, Carmen Webber, Victorya Hong and Elisa Jimenez also represented Season 4.

Season 4 finalist Jillian Lewis was rocking red and posed so well that one photo caption identified her as a model. Radiant Season 2 designer and new mama Kara Janx shows off her slim, post-baby figure.

The always charming Season 3 designer Malan Breton with his latest muse, Nikki Blonsky of the movie 'Hairspray.' Beloved Season 2 designer Nick Verreos had the honor of dressing the event's hilarious host Kathy Griffin.
