Amanda's Take - Season 7, Episode 12

THE BIG TOP
Wow. You can really see why these models are the top five.
I had more to say about the models from previous seasons because someone would give me a reason to explain why a model shouldn't walk a certain way. This season the models were all so talented and poised it was hard to find fault with any of them!

All the remaining models have their own unique style on the runway and are all stunningly beautiful. The model who has the most confidence week after week is Lorena. It doesn't hurt that Emilio keeps giving her such incredibly gorgeous clothes to wear! She helps them to look more beautiful and also she has shown her knowledge of how to work a gown effortlessly.

Project Runway Fantasy Game Update from Mark Y

Greetings Project Runway Super Fans,

I was disappointed last week. Nina Garcia didn't show up to judging wearing big clown shoes, but it was a great episode anyway. Emilio's gown really hit the mark and how much fun was it having Anthony around for a bonus episode? Maybe he'll be back again as a helper during the finale episodes tonight and next week.

Each season I make picks for the finale and I'm happy to say I thought Seth Aaron and Emilio would go all the way. I've never done so well before. My final spot? Let's hear it for the boy! Jay Nicholas Sario will edge out Ms. Mila for a guy's sweep of the top three spots.

See you tonight in the Party Room!

See you tonight on BPR!

Top 5 Looks of Season 7

As we begin the countdown to the Season 7 finale, it's time once again to roll out our popular "Top 5 Looks Poll". Now that everyone has had a chance to see all of the designs and challenges this season, which 5 are your favorites?

Probably the easiest way to look at all of the garments is to go to
Lifetime's Rate The Runway page where you can sort by episode. Alternatively, you can also go back and look at our weekly poll images. To keep everyone consistent, list your five favorites in the comments by number, designer(s) name(s) and challenge (or episode #) like this:

1 - Seth Aaron Henderson "A Little Bit of Fashion"
2 - Jay Nicolas Sario "The Fashion Farm"
3 - Maya Luz "Takin' It To The Street"
4 - Ping Wu "Back To New York"
5 - Tory Burch "Why Am I Here?" challenge (well, that last one wouldn't count, but you get the idea...)

We'll tally the results and reveal your Top 5 picks in a special countdown prior to the Season 6 finale. Deadline for your entry is Friday, April 16 at midnight. It's your chance to celebrate the uncelebrated and right some judging wrongs. Who from Season 6 will join Andrae Gonzalo, Robert Best, Christian Siriano, Leanne Marshall and Rodney Epperson as a Top 5 champ?

Edited to add: I had a hard time remembering the titles of the episodes so I posted a full list and descriptions here. LK

More BPR Love for Anthony Williams

Today is Anthony's birthday! He talks about his plans for tonight and speculates about the future.

Even though they both live in Atlanta, Anthony has never met Mychael Knight.

Amanda's Take - Season 7, Episode 10, Episode 11

Project Runway model Amanda Fields is back with her take on the last two episodes - thanks Amanda.

Take 1:

LOVE that the designers were able to create their own print to become their own fabric! Cerri was incredibly natural in the way she removed her jacket on the runway. It was definitely not the most flattering look, but she saved it by being so graceful and sweet. If I were ever on a runway in a dress like Brandise wore and I didn't feel that I could walk gracefully in it, I would pick it up too.

Kristina is beautiful and even though Anthony was eliminated, she was so confident in his design and you could see that on stage. She looked incredible in it and Anthony really knows how to fit it to her body so well!

I'm so happy Emilio won! His fabric design was so great because I could envision it immediately in other colors and on handbags, wallets, sunglasses, you name it!

Project Runway Fantasy Game Update from Mark Y

Hello, Super Fans.

Who's ready for fashion? In a nod to the circus theme of the challenge, I'm hoping Nina wears a pair of big clown shoes and HRH Michael sports a red rubber nose. I have one if he needs to borrow it.

There's buzz out there that this episode is a double elimination. I've thought that was coming all season so I'm ready for it. Anyone agree with that theory? Remember Marla and Diana?

But the scoop I'm liking is that it is a single elimination saying bye bye to one more designer and sending four designers home to design collections for Fashion Week. But, a la Rami vs Chris, only three will get to show (except that we know 10 of them already showed. It's confusing. And whatever you do, don't mention that to Gordana like I did.) And that might mean a walk off of a few looks before Fashion Week. Also makes sense to me with history repeating itself. Chris really pushed the envelope on that one.

I'm looking forward to the circus challenge which should be a hoot and a great field trip for the designers. They stepped in mud for the feedbag challenge. I can't imagine what they'll step in at the circus.

Now for a Fantasy League team. I scored negative points last week so I'm hanging my head in shame. Right now I have Jay, Mila and Seth Aaron. I haven't always been loyal to Jay, but I am not an Emilio fan and Anthony's return is too good to be true. I feel like I'm being set up.

See you all in the party room at 9:20 Mark Y Time. Oh, by the way. If any of you haven't purchased your Season Six DVD, do so. I'm enjoying it immensely. Something about the second time around and it's a lot of fun. Now if only the DVD Gods would listen to me and include all the decoy collections starting with Austin's as a bonus feature!

Tonight On BPR

Photo: Lifetime Network

The circus, really? Well, we've always considered Project Runway to be the Greatest Show On Earth and designers past and present have shown that they are more than capable of making clown clothes, so perhaps taking the designers out to the big top isn't such a stretch.

It's the last challenge of Season 7 and sparks will literally be flying as we find out who's final collection gets to count at Bryant Park. The stakes are huge and BPR has its own cast of characters ready to perform for your entertainment:
  • Tbone and suzq (which one is the bigger clown?) will have live play-by-play coverage of Episode 12 as it airs from the east coast. Pre-game at 9:30 p.m. and show time at 10:00 p.m.
  • Speaking of clowns, the BPR paty room opens at 9:30 p.m. Watch the big show under the BPR big top
  • After Heidi's good-bye kiss tell us what you thought of tonight's epsode in our reactions thread, posted immediately after the show is over.

See you tonight at the circus! Oops, I meant the runway. No difference, you say?

Chloe: I was watching up until Ping, the crazy Asian girl, got eliminated. They let 10 designers show at Fashion Week. It’s insulting to past seasons. What’s the point if [almost] every designer gets to show at Fashion Week? They could have waited and let three designers show. I was turned off and disgusted. I feel bad for both seasons [6 and 7], especially [sixth season winner] Irina [Shabayeva]. She didn’t have the experience of walking out with the crowd.

One walked off, one walked back on and another one goes home. It was a crazy night on Project Runway! Post your reactions to Episode 11 here.

Episode 11 Party!

That, Project Runway fans, is one set of beleaguered looking designers. Let's pick them all up in the party room, shall we?

It promises to be an interesting even of drama and design based on the previews and the BPR party crew will be hanging on every minute of it. Join us in the comments below as watch episode 11: "Sew Much Pressure" together. Who will stay and who will go? It's Project Runway party time!

Project Runway Fantasy Game Update from Mark Y - Episode 11

Ouch. I'm still smarting in sympathy for Jonathan from last week's judging. Anyone else still feeling his pain? He gave back as good as he got. I thought his pale print looked like rain drops, not stains. I'm also a fan of Emilio's monogram print but not the dress. I would have picked SA for the win but the judges never ask me. How about you?

Have you seen the previews for tonight's mystery? All the speculation and theories. And, don't forget - today is April Fool's Day so don't believe everything you see or hear. I never trust the editing, especially of reaction shots, anyway.

So who do you think will be the winner? Which designer returns? Why does Tim talk to SA on the QT? Maya, call a press conference already!

Tonight On BPR

Things will just keep getting "weirder and weirder" tonight on Project Runway. In what should have been the most hyped episode of Season 7, we are left to create our own buzz as we solve the mystery of Maya, find out who returns, learn why Seth Aaron gets called out to the hallway and edge ever so close to the finale. It's must-see TV and you know we are on it:
  • The BPR party room opens at 9:30 p.m. and there should be plenty of speculation on tonight's proceedings. All are welcome!
  • Tbone and suzq will be live blogging the new episode as it airs from the East Coast. Pre-game at 9:30p.m. and show time at 10:00 p.m.
  • After the show, tell us what you thought in our weekly reactions thread. This one should be pretty lively!

Can you believe there are only 4 episodes left? See you tonight on BPR! No foolin'...

Project Runway Season 8!

Note: This was our annual April Fool post.
The reveal was at the 'click here' at the end.

Looks like Project Runway is taking a page from Survivor. This just in:

The cast of Season 8 will be an all-star lineup of designers from the past seven seasons of Project Runway. Titled "Heroes vs. Villains," Season 8 will pit some of the most loved - and most despised - designers from the franchise.

And in a dramatic shift, a newly formed company called Bye-Bye Productions has been brought in to produce the show. Led by former Magical Elf (and Executive Producer of PR Seasons 1-5) Rich Bye, the new production team will reflect a return to Project Runway's roots.

A change in the production company seemed inevitable considering the recent sale of Bunim-Murray. Rich Bye claims that he has signed on "the most talented and experienced producers in reality television that will bring Project Runway back to the top of reality competition programming." Former PR producers Michael Rucker and Sara Rea are also partners in the new venture.

Show host Heidi Klum declares, "Our core group of devoted fans will be happy to see the return of these designers, while the newer fans will be introduced to some of our most memorable characters."

Taping for the new season will begin on June 1st at Parsons in New York City and the premiere will be "later this summer." Three finalists will create a Spring 2011 collection to be shown at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on September 10th. "It's a quick turnaround," said Bye, "But we have a precedent in season three. We had a similar schedule and the designers had to "make it work."

Here's the full cast rundown:

Season 1: Wendy Pepper and Austin Scarlett
Season 2: Zulema Griffin and Nick Verreos
Season 3: Jonathan Kayne Gillaspie and Vincent Libretti
Season 4: Victorya Hong and Rami Kashou
Season 5: Jerell Scott and Kenley Collins
Season 6: Gordana Gelhausen and Irina Shabayeva
Season 7: Emilio Sosa and Anthony Williams

"I am concerned about the potential volatility between these designers in the workroom" added Project Runway mentor Tim Gunn. "But there is no denying the high level of talent they bring to the table. It promises to be the most explosive season of Project Runway ever."

Click here for the official press release.
