Wesley Nault Fall 2012 "Queen of Martyrs" Field Report

Project Runway Season 5 designer, Wesley Nault, presented his "Queen of Martyrs" collection on Feb. 16th. BPR Field Reporter Jennifer Mara sends us this report. Thanks Jen!

Wesley Nault prefers these presentations instead of Runway shows and the format really complements his work. As the models pose, new details reveal themselves as the viewer is able to take a closer look. Wesley sticks to a simple color palette playing with pale pinks, beige and black.

Wesley isn’t afraid to really show his work- his tailoring and craftsmanship are high above the bar. He took everything to next level for this show. Great Job Mr. Nault. Can’t wait for the next one!

Project Runway Alums Enjoy Viewing Party at Casa Nonna in Manhattan

Wesley Nault Spring 2012

Project Runway Season 5 designer, Wesley Nault presented his Spring 2012 collection on Tuesday and BPR field reporter, Jennifer Mara sends us this report. Thanks Jen!



On Tuesday night, Wesley Nault made his way into the fashion world introducing his first ever fashion-week collection. In the heart of the fashion district, fashion week virgin Wesley Nault hosted the presentation of his 2012 Spring Line fittingly titled, "The Annunciation of the Virgin." The show was an extremely impressive and intimate showcase of his work. Every look impeccably tailored.

Wesley's collection is inspired by Renaissance art and was a first step into making his mark into the fashion industry. Wesley says his he loves each piece for different reasons but his favorite piece is "the one with the bugle beads." He also says he "wanted to transform female body." Throughout the collection Wesley executes a very sharp, honest, and professional perspective that stands out memorably.

The beautiful jewelry in the collection featured skulls, crosses, and halos. Each of Wesley's looks was accompanied by at least one of the eye-catching jewelry designs (by Satori Breonn) and was perfectly styled with side braided hair completing the look. We love when designers do that!

Satori Breonn designer, Jorie Bandauski was also looking fabulous supporting Wesley's collection by wearing what seemed to be an extra look for his line. It was instantly recognized by all, that these clothes were thoughtfully designed and extremely well-made. When asked, if he was ready to start his next collection Wesley energetically replied "Yes, I can't wait!"

Project Runway Season 5 Designer Jennifer Diederich Married on June 11th

Wesley Nault was her "Man of Honor."



Jennifer Diederich from season 5 was married in the Italian ancient walled village of Monterriggioni in Tuscany on June 11 to her long-time beau, Claudio Guarducci. Jennifer wore a lovely Vera Wang gown. The couple shared their vows in both Italian and English. The couple is honeymooning in Thailand and Bali.

Here is a highlight: So besides the Michael C. ostracism and condescension, "Runway" has been teasing something incredibly dramatic coming up. The promos are incredibly cryptic, however, so we can't tell if a designer straight out cheats and steals a design, completely flips out or makes some huge sacrifice.

Garcia isn't really any more specific, but she urges viewers to stay tuned.

"It gets really good," she promises. "It's very soon. It's just a very emotional moment in the show, and it's the first time that something like this has happened. It's a very powerful and a very admirable moment."

Tim Gunn has also hinted about something very emotional coming up. He hints that it happens "on the runway." Any theories?

WesFeld 2010

BPR Field Reporter Jessica Switaj attended Wesley Nault and Daniel Feld's show on Wednesday and sends us this report - thanks Jes!



On Wednesday evening, February 10th, I attended the GenArt New Garde fashion show, held at Drive-in Studios in Manhattan. As you probably already know, Wesley Nault and Daniel Feld were the stars of the evening, having recently won the GenArt competition sponsored by Plastics Make It Possible.

They used their $10,000 prize money to create an amazing collection inspired by past and present sea life, including coral, barnacles, trilobite fossils and conch shells. The inspiration was clearly present in each gorgeous, painstakingly constructed piece. I was able to stop by the WesFeld studio a few days before the show, so I can attest to the nearly countless hours that were taken to make these designs phenomenal.

Yankee Doodle Dandies

Okay - we love this. The most storied franchise in Major League Baseball picked a couple of class guys to outfit the luxury suite staff at the sparkling new Yankee Stadium. Let Wesley Neault and Daniel Feld tell the rest:

Hi BPR!!!

It has been a crazy few weeks for us at Wes Feld. Thursday, April 16th marked the grand opening of the new Yankee Stadium. After several meetings with the Yankees, including Ms. Jenny Steinbrenner, we created a great little wardrobe for each of the the staff members of the luxury suites.

The looks included a raglan-cap sleeved dress with ruffled shirt yoke, a relaxed trouser and striped shirt with piped bias yoke, and a pleated wrap skirt and striped shirt with shadow ruffle. It was down to the last second sewing over 170 pieces in just under a month and tailoring each of the garments to every single staff member.

We have to especially thank Stella Zotis who is an angel sent from fashion heaven. Even though she was feeling a bit under the weather, Stella spent several late nights with us making sure everything was finished for opening day. We adore and are forever greatful to her! We also wanted to thank our dear friend Brian Dargiewicz who also came out to the rescue! He's an amazing guy, learning how to sew buttons on the spot. Phewwwwf..... it's finally done and we can go back to working on our own collection!!!

Stella does the Yankees! Just another springtime in New York...

Hi BPR,
We hope all is well for you at Blogging Project Runway. It was really great seeing you at the season 6 finale show. As promised, here is some of our latest work. We have been fortunate enough to design costumes for a couple of great events.

First, we have designed costumes (photo above) for the Detroit Institute of Art Gala.

BPR at the Season Six Finale

Although we have plenty of posts from the finale show, there is still a little more to share.

Arriving at the tents we were greeted by many of our contest winners. Some of you I hadn't seen for quite a while - many I had never met in person - but all of you felt like friends. We were very excited and curious about the show.

We also spotted many of the designers from past seasons.

It wasn't hard at all to locate our seats...

...and I would like to thank Erin N and everyone at Full Picture who helped everything to run so smoothly.

When the first designer's collection came out, I was very eager to see it and I felt a little disappointed. I leaned over to The Scarlett and said, "Maybe this is a decoy."

Now of course, it never fails, that after I say something like this, "Designer #1" will be my favorite in the show. So, I am already apologizing for that comment.

I am in the definite minority for claiming "Designer #2" as my favorite, but I will stand by my choice. First of all, this was the collection that Amanda Fields worked and she looked absolutely gorgeous. Second, there was color and detail in this collection that made me feel happy.

The third collection seemed to be everyone else's favorite and choice to win.

Tbone also noted that there were 13 looks in each collection and it was possible that there was a "Thirteenth Look" challenge. Perhaps a LBD. Only speculating. It just seemed that there was a lot of black going on.

When Heidi came back to thank everyone after three collections it was obvious that these were the finalists. Just these three. It felt really short after seeing six collections last season!

At the conclusion, we worked our way down to the runway to visit with some of our old friends. I kept thinking that "someone" would be hosting a brunch, but no invitation had arrived. So... I thought we should just host something ourselves.

I spontaneously invited anyone within range to join us. We wound up with quite a nice group. Leanne Marshall, Kenley Collins, Wesley Nault, Daniel Feld, Kelli Martin, Jennifer Diederich, Malan Breton, Jerell Scott, Stella Zotis, Joe Faris, Blayne Walsh, and their spouses, sweethearts and friends all joined us. We also invited our fellow bloggers and contest winners. I'm not sure how many were there, but it was great fun, and we didn't want it to end.

Hi Everyone,

We hope all is well for all of you at BPR.

As you know we have teamed and are steadily working for an amazing spring collection we will be exhibiting in September 09.

We currently have the privilege of designing uniforms for the luxury boxes in the new Yankee Stadium opening this April.

We were most recently asked to create a gown for a Food and Wine publication that was entirely out of fresh produce. Forty artichokes, 5 cabbages, 10 bushels of kale, a little bunny we named Kugel and 7 hours of radicchio ridiculousness. It was a mini project runway in the making.

Eat Your Heart Out!!! (no pun intended)

Extra BPR Love for Wesley Nault

A Note From Daniel Feld -

...I wanted to take the time and thank you for the kind words you posted in your blog about me once I was eliminated. It is really nice see a blog that consistently remains positive....

I also regret to inform you that Wesley's grandfather passed away this past weekend. He was extremely close and this has been an emotional time for him. I would like to know if it would be at all possible to create a spot on your blog for him where his fans could ... write a few kind words to his loss. This would mean the world to him and I know he would be so grateful if you could help. The funeral is this Wednesday and I just wanted to support him in any way I could. I love him so much!!!

Please leave your words of support and encouragement to Wesley Nault in this sad time.
